Electrosport - Rant

I am just a bit peeved with our U.S AceWell distributer Electrosport. Last week I placed an order for the Acewell 3913 computer, based on the information portrayed on their website. A few days later, I received my package; however, when I opened the box the inscription on the unit indicates 3901. banghead

So, I call back to the sales department and politely explain that I must have received the wrong item (Holding back my urge to swear ) The sales department informs me that the 3901 face ships on all AceWell 3900 series units because thats the way they come. I further explain that not only did the face not match but neither did the layout of the indicator lights. The sale department proceeds to tell me "several of the images on the website may not be correct and they are working on fixing the site. But, as long as you have six indicators you have the 3913 unit." .....WTF!!! So I email AceWell corporate asking for a stock picture of the 3913 unit, just to verify. (I didn't mention my order issues I just wanted a stock image) AceWell corporate forwards the email to Electrosport!

So, I just got off the phone with the Electrosport representative that again states all 3900 series units ship with the 3901 display. They attempted to justify it under inventory optimization, somthing like why carry all the various modules if they all display the same info with different surrounds!! But they did commit to investigate why the surrounds didn't match....

At this point I am ready to just send the whole thing back!

Other than the Hazard light being in the incorrect spot and the it says ACE-3901, I don't see any difference in the photos. But then again, I am blind as a bat.

I do have to agree though. I've always found it anouying when the item doesn't look like what you thought. Especially when the sales people look at you funny for asking. :evil: Makes me what to smack the hell out of them. :twisted:

After further discussions via email they offered to replace it with something a little closer to the represented picture. Now I am sure the unit will get the job done, but the principle is that customers purchase what they see. Their rational is similar to "Well we know the turn indicatiors are on the same side and yea the picture shows them on opposite sides but, hey they are still there so you got what you paid for." Or purchasing a car with power windows that you can only control from the dirvers seat!?? So now I have to pay to ship their screw up back so they can fix it!! Geesh attention to detail is that so hard to expect?

Electrosport representative:
"Well I see what's happened now, We used to order the surround as one part number and it used to come with three lights on the left and three on the right, well when the new Acewell catalog came out know one picked up on the fact that they where now coming with 2 left and 4 right, So in fact a 2913 is now a 3915, I can if you want send you the surround with 3 left and 3 right if you will mail me back the old one. If you have not mounted the acewell you have and can return it complete to me I can replace it with a with a new unit that has 3 left and 3 right and it say 3915, will that work for you??"

WTF??? screwy If that's the case they can send you the new surround and you can replace it yourself and send the old one back to them. That would make me upset to. While I understand the logic of what the rep said it still makes them look really bad in the way of product design, updating, and support. So now you have a pissed off customer, and a (probably) underpaid rep scrambling to make customers happy because of a design/redesign mistake. Flippin ridiculous!! I would say send it back BUT in my opinion it's the best of that class unless you decide to try doing the R6 gauge swap or going with Koso's GP setup.

send the sorry ass fool a copy of this set of messages and tell them refund your postage or you will continue to tell ALL your friends what a NAFF bunch of cowboys they are .

You ordered apart that is now no longer fit for your purpose which puts the law on YOUR side . get the local retail protection group involved

George is right. you have the law on your side. They need to make this right for you.
