corrision on aluminum rim lips, can i remove it?

Post by abs929cbrrr »

guy i got my 929rr off stripped the paint of the rims on the lips and on the front one there is some white crap on the aluminum. can i get it off? what causes it? i think the bike might have been kept in a damp place or somthing because i found more other bolts with the same corrion on them...i want to replace them if i cant clean it off.

thanks

I have used some graffiti wipes from work and it seems to work wonders on stuff like that.

If you can try take tire off. Will make it much easier. Then tape the wheel up to where you want the line . I used small strips off tape but I striped the whole thing as much as I can unless you have airtools forget about gettin it fully polished ! Lol I didn't have no air tools! But just tape it good so you have a nice straight line
