bar change

Post by FZAmbeR600R »

I am new to this forum and would like some advice on changing the handlebars on my 91 fzr 600. I would like to know what mounting system and bar style would be best to change my bars to pro taper 7/8" with no crossbar. Any suggestions? Anyone personally made this change and what was required, what did you learn, wish you did differently? Pictures?

Thanks,
Amber

Some people have used a seca2 triple clamp, but the bars and forks try to take up the same space at stock height. Over in the streetfighter section most people drill a hole in the upper triple and use bolt on mounts.

Well, thanks, I have heard of that seca triple clamp but they are hard to find. Yes I am thinking of the bolt on mounts, just wondering which ones are the best, maybe there are some that don't work very well and I should avoid. Has anyone added a piece of metal around the bottom of the bolt on mounts to make them look more tapered into the bike? I am trying to figure out what kind of parts I should get and I was just hoping for some suggestions.

Yep, there is a fighter section. Down lower below the bike specific sections. I haven't seen anyone blend the risers in with the upper. I haven't even seen that on the stock bikes with risers.
