Have any of you ever rebuilt your Twin-Clicker?

My bike came with a Twin-Clicker that looks decent overall and passes the "bounce test" but the bump stop is rotted off and I have no idea how long it has been since a rebuild.

I've found plenty of places that will rebuild for $90-$120 which seems pretty reasonable all things considered...but I'm a DIY sorta guy. I built the engine in my truck, the engine in my XR100, and the engine in my XR650R twice. I have the factory rebuild manual for the shock. The parts I need are all available for around $30. It looks like I'll be okay as far as special tools go.

Anyone have any experience or guidance on this one? I already pulled the shock and replaced it with an OEM one so I'm ready to get started?

A guy on here had rebuilt a couple of them, but he has moved on. From what he said, it wasn't too difficult.

Yeah, I have the manual as mentioned above, got it straight from the Fox website. Doesn't look too bad. Just don't want any surprises. It looks like the only thing that I'll need that I don't have is a large vice.

I'm a surgeon by day (and sometimes night) so I'm no too scared by the process. I figure it can't be more complicated than a hysterectomy?

I believe it can be done by a DIY guy (not having done it myself) but just be careful as I believe there is high pressure nitrogen in the system. Do you have a source to recharge with nitrogen? I think a lot of tire shops might have it, but would they let you "borrow" some.

Where did you source the parts from?

I ended up starting in the process shortly after I posted. Basically just went by the manual. Made my own shaft clamp when the time came. I've only had bits and pieces of free time so I've just been working on it when I can. Disassembly is complete. I'll start rebuilding when my seals show up. I'll do a proper write up with all the pics when I get time.

Finished the bleed process Friday night then had it charged yesterday. After the kids went to bed last night I got it installed.

Could you provide some more details on what you had to do & any problems that you ran into?
