Changing Colour Of Bike Questions?

Im changing the colour of my bike an wondering do i tell insurance? been reading online people slaying to but other not as they had policy canceled! but the insurance do not know what colour the bikes when insured? so how would they know? only spraying gloss black! suggestions?? Thank you.

Here in the states they don't care. Not sure about over yonder. I don't really know why it would matter don't citations go by your plate number and driver in the UK? Someone will know though.

You should notify the DVLA if you change the main colour of the vehicle. If you don't it gives the police an excuse to pull you over everytime they see you as they think 'your' number plate could be being used on multiple vehicles. Once DVLA know the insurance companies will know as they share databases.

So do you think its worth keeping it the same colour just cleaning it up? Cheers
I'm with a company called cia they seem pretty strickt! So I think I'll keep it the same for a while or just keep same colours and get sprayed cheers

It's completely up to you what you do! What is the main colour on the logbook??? Being a 3EN2 (?) it's probably white? Yamaha white of the time is Silky White - colour code GE. It's not the easiest to match as it is metallic. I changed the colour of my FZR400RR from black to white by changing all the bodywork & tank. Just informed DVLA - didn't tell insurance as it's a std colour scheme and doesn't exactly make the bike go faster............

in log book its red! so i was thinking like a glossy red and keep white wheels! cheers

chris can you tell me what colour code the red is aswell? getting it sprayed the same colours again :) thankyou
