Would make a good commuter, range needs to improve some but that is supposedly coming with better battery tech

Not bad looking but pricey. You can build your own for about a grand. Doesn't have as good a range but I'll take it for saving myself 7k

I agree, right now they're really a niche market for people with disposable income. I just like the direction we're going

There should be several companies with offerings. Realize that it is still early tech, but they have to fund the next gen by selling what they have now.
Brammo is another ::

will be fun i recon! the range at the mo poor to say the least but the motors have MASSIVE torque so will be a riot to hoon around on!
look at the electric bikes raced in the Isle of Man TT! they are rapid!! John McGuinness averaged over 100mph round the island's 38 mile course! the tech is there near enough!

Hi,
I have two major problems with this tech:-
A} the thing is too quiet, the cagers do not see us now without silently sneeking up on them
B} as Jeremy Clarkeson found out with an electric car the lack of infrastructure to "re-fuel" is apalling and charge times are yawn inducing.

A-Sadly the only cagers that have every noticed me be sound had colorful lights mounted on their cars, and I have a very loud pipe. Perhaps UK drivers are trained to notice sounds better but in the US these days insulation from your surroundings is a common and dangerous practice.
B-I recall the top gear and that's why I like this manufacturer, the batter pack can be removed and taken inside to be plugged in under your desk or behind your tools. Charging time is 3 hours and even less with a rapid charger. Ideal for a commuter at this point. It's be no means a traveling machine but would be a decent runabout or messenger model when the price equals the value.

Will,
in the US you use air con cars so yes that does cut down sound, luckily here in the UK we do not have quite so many air-con cars thanks to our famous weather so making your self heard is not quite so challenging.

I also don't think you guys are battling as many morons eating while texting and attempting to drive. Freedom can be dangerous...

don't get to idealistic a view, every country/continent/street has the distracted texters. I once saw a college student on a skate board looking down and texting while skating in the road with his arm in a sling and to which I said to myself , "slow learner". Plus most of the cages I've had to dodge either were rooting around in their car or paying perfect attention to whatever was directly in front of them a nothing else.

i know what yall mean by people not paying attention. i have almost been ran off of the road more than once because people weren't paying attention. hence the first mod i did to the bike. i took the stock tricycle horn off and stuck a dual tone, dual trumpet boat horn with a 40 amp relay across the radiator in an X pattern. you cant see them but when i hit the horn button people know something is wrong. the first guy that went to pull out in front of me by about 10 yards while i was doing 55 in a 60 got the crap scared out of him so bad he jerked the wheel and the last thing i saw was him sitting on the side of the road.
