pilot powers are great street tires. it really depends on how old the tire is. the older tires get, the less they grip.
as far as new tires go, i've taken brand new pilot powers out on the track and been at full lean after 2 laps (about 4 miles). all you have to do is progressively lean the bike over a little more each turn, but smoothness is the key. no erratic inputs -- steering, brake or gas. it also doesn't hurt to lower the pressure 3 or 4 psi to increase your contact patch when breaking in some new tires.
pp's are also great in cold weather and in the rain. however, at the track, they will melt like butter if the temps are 90+ and sunny. some girl was in the basic class at a track day on VIR North course. she was really slow and not leaning the bike over much. what was hilarious to see was, her pilot powers had a big melted rubber line showing how far she was leaning the bike. she had a 2 inch chicken strip on the rear tire. looked like rossi rode it around the track without going past a 10 degree lean angle --
. it was about 100 degrees that day...

Yeah, I splurged on a d90 just a couple weeks ago. Kinda got new toy-itis with it and strapped it down to the bike.ragedigital wrote:tommyj27 wrote:Nikon D90 takes 720P.
