Can I use a newer fender on my 87 FZR1000??

Can I use a newer fender on my 87 FZR1000??

I am needing to know if I can use a newer 1 piece front fender on my 87 FZR1000. They are originally 2 piece but can't find a good back half, so was thinking of using newer FZR600 1 piece. Bolt pattern looks to be the same, as well as the fork brace. Anyone tried doing that?
