A cold race day the track just dried up everyone had a slower pace this race then normal.

Suspension is stil a bit farged up but I am closer to getting it where it needs to be.

I finished it on Friday evening adn got about half a practice on her.

Then I started to adjust the suspension I had one practice to try to get that right
Then I qualified on a bike that was hardly ridable.

I adjsuted a few more things and on Sunday morning I tested her out for 5 laps. Seemed to be better handling but it was raining in morning practice so hard to say. Still I lead for the first three laps of practice. There were 3 or 4 bike tucked in behind me following my line trying to stay on the dry line. It was a lot of fun. I bet the pics form that practice sesison first three laps look better than most of the race ones as we are all tucked in very close to each other.

When we came in the pits my buddy asked me why I did not do that during qualifying. I was faster on race day morning in the rain on cold tires than on qualifying on a warm track the day before. So I know the adjustments I made helped some what.

It dried up but was cold so I pushed her as far as I felt safe since I was starting 26th on the grid out of 29 bikes. I had no chance to win and decided to let common scense be the better part of valor adn throttle back a bit and use the race as a testing session, which I did. I got a lot fo useful info and I think I got a handle on the carb issue as well as the suspension adjustements I need to do.

Over all she handled well enough to go from 26th to 15th in a 12 lap spring on a 1.2 mile circuit. Not great but not bad and I did not wad her up like a few others did.

Good job Steve. I wish I had the ability to go do some track day let alone a full race. Bike looks great. But were are the umbrella girls?
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

you know we were commenting on race day about the lack of Umbrella girls.

We resorted to display girl and fan pics. There were a few good looking ones but not many.

I got pics on the way don't worry!

Some of these are qualifying and some are race day. I can not figure out what is what pic from what day.

I just dropped into the right hander in the "S" turn. Its a right hander but you can keep the bike upright quite a bit if you enter the corner just right its actually hardly a right with a straight shot to the entry of the left hand turn in the "S"

Image
Part 2 of the "S turn is a nice smooth left hander. If you got balls you can pass here. Most try to hang on. It decreases at the exit so it gets a bit hair ball at times. I like to pass here it freaks people out.

Image
Exiting the "S turns you have a 75 Meter or so run to the next Left hander.

Image
Like Isaid a lot don't like this corner to pass. I think ther is plenty of room.

So when the guy in front exits and begins to drift out I go under him right after thid photo was taken. But he did not like that.

Image
I guess I un nerved him a bit and he went off the track....opps!

Two more sets (CD's) of pics on the way later next week. They are for MY photographers. These pics are from a friend of a friend.
