Steering stem bearing removal
Does anyone have a method of removing the lower tapered bearing and race removal without the special tool bearing puller? Any homegrown method? Thanks...

i would just take it to a machine shop. The cost would be very minimal.

Dremel?
.. I dunno to be quite honest.. it's on the list of things to do as I've got a new bearing set on the way as well..
Haven't even looked at it quite yet, but if I find a way, I'll let you know.

Chisel.
If you are replacing the bearings...break the roller cage and get down to the inner race. Then chisel underneath/between race and tree. Hit it in a few spots. It should lift enough to start driving it off.
If you have access to oxy/acet or oxy/propane just cherry it and cut it.

Re: Steering stem bearing removal
Just few days ago I made a bearing replacement in the "Razor" style. Worked perfect ! Just have to remember file down the scratches from the axle...
In case the chisel slips
