Bike wont start!

Post by The Usual Suspect »

My 93 FZR600.Its dead. :deadhorse: Battery is fully charged. Lights go on. I "jumped" the starter slenoid with a screwdriver and it crancked over nice and strong. But when I hit the starter swith... nothing. Lights dim, but no crank?
How do I check the solenoide? Also I think my fuel pump died. It wouldnt make any noise when I turned the key and the button on run. I hit the pump with a wrench and it did spin and click a little but then stopped. It made the wire connecting to it very hot.

HELP!!!!

Ok the solenoid is good. I grounded the little middle wire and it cranked. Nothing happens with the start button though. I also pulled out the fuel pump and it's dead. Tested it off the bike with a battery. No good. Looks like I will be getting an ebay pump...
Is there something between the starter solenoid and the starter button that may have fried? Possible helped out by the shorted fuel pump??? :headscratch:

Did you check to see if you are getting power to flow through the start switch? Something may have happened with that. But there is nothing between the start switch and the soleniod as far as I can remember.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

battery could be too weak to push it when you pull it off the charger

and your starter "could" be bad because I've had high amp batteries move electric motors that low amp batteries that it was rated for wouldn't push.
