FZR250 similar parts.

Post by garyhoons »

Hey all, I've browsed through this place a few times but only just recently registered.
I've got an FZR250 , 1989. Problem is, i live in Australia and here it was only ever an import ( perhaps it was like that in many places ? ).
Anyway, its incredibly hard to get parts for, sometimes even the really basic ones like the fuel pump or the thermostatic switch cost an absolute fortune at my local Yamaha dealer ( known rip off), if he can get them at all.

Anyways, the question is, does anybody know of any other of the Yamaha bikes that some of these parts may be similar to ? Ie maybe a Zeal etc uses the same filters or anything like that ?

Any help would be great.

Thanks Alot
Dean

The US never got the FZR250. And even fewer were imported here than Australia. I'm sure some of the parts are interchangeable, but it would be hard for us to tell which ones. Do you have access to a mircofiche? This might be able to help us crossreference some parts for you.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Hi ,

Im sorry, i don't actually know what a mircofiche? is ?
I actually found my fuel filter online advertised as a part for a Honda Gold Wing 1500, cost me 3 Dollars AUD instead of the 35 the guy down the street wanted.

PM "dru86" and ask him who he uses since he is in Canberra. He will probably be the most help. Plus, he's extremely knowledgeable.
