need pickup coil, and I also need an igniter/TCI. I'm not sure where the problem lies, I'm just going to replace the parts and sell whatever still works. Thanks!

No you don't I've read here or elsewhere that the stock spark plug caps are 9K to 11K ohms, but the resistors are only there to prevent radio interference I think it was a post by ReelRazor. I removed the resistors from my caps and replaced them with cut down 3mm welding rods, they work a treat. Ah the TCI see Dontz125 for a repair/exchange, that man well both ReelRazor and Dontz125 Know their stuff.

yeah, but I've also heard it speculated that the lower resistance on the plug caps could over work the transistors in the TCI and burn them out over time. I ride my bike around a lot, and I don't want to have to buy a new igniter in a year if that is true. I'd rather be safe than sorry and get some spark plug caps that are within the factory tolerance. I've emailed a few ebay people that are selling some, I asked them to check the resistance for me.

Hi, Match.
Your caution is well-meant, but unnecessary. The secondary resistance is NOT reflected in the current sent through the primary coils and the TCI ignition driver transistors. At any rate, the TCI upgrade I do uses BIP373s; these are self-limiting for voltage and current, and will simply shut down if they get too hot. The folks at DIYAutotune swear by them, and had to go to rather ridiculous extremes of dwell and over-voltage before they could actually kill one!
Do you want to send me your TCI for a repair attempt? No charge if I can't fix it...
