This might sound like a hillbilly fix but....my buddy had a vmax we were fixin up and when we tore apart the forks...there was a piece of pvc in as the inner tube. We were all baffled and said well it's worked for this long....put it back in and haven't had an issue since...and that was 2006. Just a thought

Sure, right up until you have a "Holy Crap!" braking situation, which can only be improved by the fork leg snapping off!

Are you freaking serious?! :duh: banghead

Hey man, you don't have to agree. It was in there before we ever took them apart. Everything was working perfectly fine. We just figured while it's apart, let's change the oil. It worked before and has work fine since. Not everybody has 200 bucks to pay out for parts for every little fault in a machine. We aren't all that blessed.

My ranting is not that you found something so utterly inappropriate (although that is deserving of a rant!). I'm on the floor that you LEFT IT IN! This is not a little fault in the machine - this is a major structural flaw that is endangering your life and the life of anyone on the road with you when your front end falls off!

Park the damn thing and fix the piece of machine that is keeping your face off the road!

Easy killer. Wasn't my bike. Wasn't my choice. But my point that it has worked flawlessly for well over ten years. Let the OP have his thread back.
