YZF600R Top End AKA 660 Parts (price drop)

Post by gre3nskeeper »

For Sale: Top end from a low mileage 2000 YZF 600 R. Looking to sell this as a set.

Included are:
Cylinders
Pistons
Con-Rods
Head w\ cam shafts, ect
Thermostat

Girl who owned the bike cracked the bottom crank case in a crash. Rather than buy a whole new crank case and pay for labor to swap the parts onto it, she opted to swap in a new engine instead and gave us this engine as partial payment for the swap. The engine has about 9000 miles on it. Internals are in immaculate condition, minimal carbon on the valves and pistons, beautiful cross hatching visible on the cylinders.

These are pretty much all the YZF parts you need for a 660 engine. Just add a 3mm spacer plate and maybe some adjustable cam gears and you're in business.

Asking $400 shipped anywhere in the US.

I see the original message is from 2011 but are these parts still available. I am quite interested in it and have some questions to go along with it. Will my carbs work or will I have to change them out? Exhaust same question? I have heard of the conversion but have not got to see or research it any just seen this posted and got me thinking I need more cool stuff on my bike. Where would I find the spacer that is needed? Does anyone know the power gains from this swap?

Picture is of the bike as i got It. I will get new ones on here when i am done.

See Reelrazor's writeup - he used FZR conrods reamed to accept YZF wirst pins - no adaptor plate, no adjustable cams, no drama when it comes to timing the cams.
