FZR 600 1/4 mile ET's

Post by DaganFZR600 »

Hello all,

I'm heading to New England Dragway tonight to challenge some friends of mine to a little heads up racing. Doesn't sound challenging? He's riding a 2005 CBR 600 F4i. I have some past experience racing and I've done a few little mods to help the old girl stay with the Honda. As long as I can holeshot him I think there's a chance.

Anyone in the area is welcome to join!! I'd love to have another Yamaha, especially an FZR.

But I was curious what ETs people have run on a stock motor FZR 600? The only changes I've made are a 520 conversion, k & N filter, and she's geared down a little bit. I was hopin to run around 12.5 or so.

Seems like stock they'll run mid to high 12's. As long as you don't run out of gearing I don't see why you couldn't do a little better than that.

12.5 ish seemed to be what I read a lot of before I went, best I pulled was a 13.58 I think with a D&D pipe and a K&N filter. It was also a hot Florida night , my first time running and I weighed in at well over 250 lbs so if you don't have those against you hitting the 12's should be easily doable. Sport rider numbers put the f4i in the high 10 to low 11 range but it's good fun anyway.

I had no chain guard so I failed tech. Turns out my clutch was slipping anyways. I'm working in San Diego till the end of July, I'll try it again in August.
