Track day training pics
Here are some pics from todays outing.
Though I have an oil leak issue but other than that the bike handles spectacular.
Dropping in
Online my race line
Off my line by about 6" know it and I am counter steering a bit mor to get here where I want her to be for the exit.
Corner Exit -the scooter behind me and I have about the same line through this decreasing radius turn. Interestingluy the other stock but modified 600 bikes are to my left about 3 feet to get through here.
I have a shorter wheel base and can cut in a lot better faster and get a better drive out by carring my corner speed a bit more. The bike ran like crap with the carb issue so I need to practice at full speed next time.
I am at the end of the short front srtaight away and am just popping up as I roll off and position myself for the left hand hairpin turn.
Down the front straight away. I can not get much more tucked in than this. Maybe bring my arms in more is about all.

Very nice. Good luck this season.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.
Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....
I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....

Nice pics. How about some more of that bodywork you are rolling? What is it?

Speaking of Steve... where has that slacker been? We need some updates! Hopefully he's doing more racing and less acting.

Re: Track day training pics
Speaking of Steve here I am. I have been in the hinter lands helping my friend with an addition on his house. not much internet out there really. I was one of three white guys in a town of about 4 million.
Ok So update on the bikes. The YZF hybrid had a seal leak around teh crank. I had to actually cut off th flywheel to get it off. Not sure why but it was frozen on ther. Uli cut it off with a dimond blade on a dremel tool it took nearly 3 - 8 hour days to get it done.
I got a new fly wheel on the way. .The crank and inner part of the fly wheel were rusted a bit and had a lot of scratching. Looks like the crank was 10 years old. Makes no sense as it is a new crank I had polished and balanced and lightened. I have only got about 3 running hours on the engine. a bit baffled about this issue.
Spo fly wheel gets her next week adn its on adn the bike is track ready no issue. ready to go.
The FZR-400 I had changed the stock original pistons with a fresh set of Wiseco high compression pistons and rings. These are what they call single ring race pistons.
I got the bike back together and Uli did a bit of work on the head while he was at it. Not much just cleaned things up a bit.
I go to the USA in 2 days so I will have two bikes with fresh engines ready to go when I return.
I have a race in August when I get back about a week after I return I think. Hope can get some ass time on the bike and beak her in a bit more before the race.
I also need to break in the 400 pistons as well now. All she lacks right now is getting the fuel pump rewired or getting a new one or a silenoid if its bad. Something is not makeing fuel pump I need to trouble shoot it.
