Last hit out for the year.

This will be a pretty strange weekend for me.
The place I started racing way back in 1978 is closing down. So its the last time I'll ever race there. I came back to racing last year after almost 20 years to have one more go & have some fun. Now its time to do the last ever laps of this great track.
The promoter has put together a great program>>> http://www.the6hour.com.au/index.html

While Im to old to be banging around for 6 Hours, I am doing the support races. Its not a big grid, but there will be some interesting bikes there. I will have a think about what im doing next year. But at this stage I want to have a great weekend, catch up with some very old friends, & then I might hang the leathers up for the last time.

Hey Steve ,
Hang up you leathers? are you dead? absolute sacriledge to utter those words on a biker list :cop:

Jokes aside have agood time and tell Zoltan that Yamaha-george says hello.
he may not remember me but he is a very helpful guy from way back on another list.

Said with a harsh, regal old English Accent

Hang up your leather? "My God Man, get a hold of yourself!"

Someone get this man a drink he obviously had a brain fart and needs to rest a moment.

Talking such nonesense.. Why I never heard of such a thing...Hang up your leathers.. in deed.

Hey man, find another track and stay young.

Steve - You been quite the inspiration to us here. You have certainly done the FZR very proud over there and we thank you for sharing that experience! Like the others, I hope that you can still find a way to ride.

I have now decided to have one real good go this year,2010 & see what happens..
Sorry guys but it wont be on the FZR1000. I have done a deal on [dont laugh] 96 GSXR 750 chock full of go fast parts. So the FZR had to go to make way for the new bike. It was a really quick decison, & to do the deal I had to move the FZR on.

I was all geared up to run the FZR for another year, but we lost one of only two tracks in NSW to housing, so the GXSR will open up a few more chances to race at interstate tracks. Was it the right move?? Only time will tell. I hope it was, as after this year I think I wont be talked out of hanging up the leathers again. But you never say never. :duh:
