Just a quick FYI:

I found my racinf season starts on March 21-22 a two day event with points toward the overall chamnmpionship.

Its 6 races on three weekends.

Sorting issues out with Sponsors in the next few weeks then off we go. Should be a good season. Will keep you update Next stop is a two day training course with AMA Dyatona 200 Winner Dave Sadowski on Feb 7th and 8th.

I'm stoked for ya, Steve. I really wish you the best.

I told the wife that I'm hitting all 4 Tracks Days here in St. Louis. Wouldn't mind hitting 1 in Indy as well...

What a great sport!

Whats a rack day like over there anyway?

Her its wide open track anything goes on and al skil levels combines. A real frigin free for all.

25 minute sessions, rest for 25, go back ot for 25, rotates like that. Guys with taillight hooke dup and ful glass but usually taped over.... usually.

They run anti freeze in some of the street bikes that are on track no one checks. No inspeciton to speak of.

Well its here teh first race of teh season.

I plan to go to the F-1 track to train with my coach for a day on The 19th then qualifying is on the 20th with a race on the 21st and a race on the 2nd. They run two races and average out for a point standing. Kind of like SBK.

I just picked up Weisco Piston as a product sponsor as well for both the FZR-400 project for Andrew my student and also tehe Hybrid 400/YZF. They have to one off some custom pistons for me for them. I am trying to get carillo rods out of them as well since they are owned by the same parent company.

I got a guy here that also sponsored me some machine work and can do a job on the cams so I plan toget that done also. The series is changed since I started to build the Hybrid and I will bore the shit out of the bike as much as I safely can.

What are the biggest pistons to put in a stock 400 and my built yzf anyone know? Weisco is asking how big of pistons want

Lifes looking good right now.

I will feel better when I am on the starting grid though.

I got the frigin jitters over this F-1 track, Its so f*ck fast! I like speed but there are a few wide open 5th gear corners and on that 636 I will be on its f*ck hairy.

The front straight is 6th gear wide open so its topping out at about 160 mph then straight in to a right hander down to third gear... heavy on the brakes... balls sucked up to the chest area ha ha. I get to use slicks in this class they have now so thats a good thing as well.

I got the Michelin distributor as a partial sponsor. basiclly I get slicks for 300 a set. Is that a good price? i thnk so but got nothing to gauge it off of over here.

One more week....... I am jumping out of my skin. I plan to go al outthis year and not hold back liek I have been past years. Ihave been takign it easy a bit and riding a bit conservative. Not this year though. This year its WFO.

I don;t have many years of al out racing left so this year I will push the shit out of myself.

How f*ck up is that when I was yong and trying hard I could not get a dollar of sponsorship. Now I am nearing 47 and I get a full ride with some great product sponsors....Go figure.

Here is the engine displacement info for you. I'm not really sure how big to go. The 400's seem to handle larger pistons better than the FZR600. But I don't really know of anyone who has used larger pistons on a YZF600 engine. Only one person comes to mind and he built a 683 engine using a FZR crank and YZF head w/ 1mm over bore.

1988-1990 FZR400 56.00 40.50 4 399.01
OVER BORE
+1 57.00 40.50 4 413.38
+2 58.00 40.50 4 428.02
+3 59.00 40.50 4 442.90

1989-1999 FZR600 59.00 54.80 4 599.29
OVER BORE
+1 60.00 54.80 4 619.77
+2 61.00 54.80 4 640.60
+3 62.00 54.80 4 661.78

1995-2008 YZF600 62.00 49.60 4 598.98
OVER BORE
+1 63.00 49.60 4 618.46
+2 64.00 49.60 4 638.25
+3 65.00 49.60 4 658.35

= (((bore * bore) /# of pistons) * 3.141593 * stroke * # of pistons) / 1000)

I tell you though, I would love to get a hold of some 63mm YZF600 pistons and some Carllio rods made to YZF600 spec's. I'm building a 660 but would love to punch it out to 683.
Yes, that is a Single Sided Swingarm FZR600 that I built.

Something is lurking, waiting, wanting to be built......It calls to me from the darkness....

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel....Then I realize that it is the train coming to run my ass over....
