Cheap Chain Tool

Post by sweekster »

Hello all. I was browsing for a chain tool a few weeks back when I went about replacing my chain and sprockets on my FZR and ran across this site that is selling a chain press/breaker tool that works with rivet type master links for $16.00 USD plus shipping (total was 23 bucks). They accept paypal and mine showed up 3 days later via UPS. It has it's own carrying case and works just as good as the one Motion Pro sells and you don't have to pay extra for the rivet link attachment.

You have to scroll down a bit but you'll be looking for "Drive Chain Riveter Tool" Part number #35-0006

Sweekster,
Yup that should work for you , you might want to heat the center tip to red heat and dunk it in sugar then oil.
to harden the tip

nice resource for some of the most required tools ClapHands
Should be added to the suppliers list that is on the site some place, even if it is only for picture ref. for what tools are what.

word of caution he is selling PLASTIC graduated cylinders for measuring oil. These degrade if left dirty with oil particularly in strong sunlight.

Thanks for the heating tip George. I'll remember that for next time. I've had the new chain and sprockets on the FZR for almost a month now with no issues and I used that tool to do the job.
