Well I bought a 88 fzr1000 for the motor to put in my 85 fz750...When i bought it there was a noise on the right clutch side...
Well i took it apart today and in the bottom of the clutch case there was a clutch basket finger...:(
Anyways i have read of the FZ750/YZF750/FZR1000 any year and the Thunder ace working..
I know that with the 750 baskets you have to change the gear..
I just wanted to see if anyone has had any problems with the FZ750 clutch in the FZR1000...Can i still use the FZR1000 fibres and plates...Or just swap everything from the FZ750 over to the FZR1000..
The FZ750 might not be the best choice..but i have the motor out of the project..
I also plan on doing the FP mod to whichever one i put in.. :)
Thxs

apart from a billet basket the best alternative would be the YZF750 basket on the OEM ring gear. The 750 basket has a reinforcing ring around its outer fingers but its gear doesnt fit the primary drive....so you'd need to swap the basket over and have it re-riveted to your original gear.

I've got one ready to go in the 1000EXUP but need to find a precision engineer to make the rivets and fit them

looks like the welding could work. I dont see why it wouldnt work unless the rivets are supposed to expand and compress?
