I might need some help

Post by marsracer »

Alright so i'm new to the motorcycle world. I recently sold my car and have always wanted a motorcycle. so i started search craigslist hard for the last week or so and i found it. A 1990 Fzr 1000 basically 2 hours away from me so of course i had to bargain with the girlfriend to drive me down there. in the couple days before even going to look at the bike in person i did my research and the anticipation grew and grew. I went test drove it and I purchased my first motorcycle. then began the unraveling. the bike did not come with turn signals attached. that had to change so when trying to hook up turn signals in the rear i noticed there was no power getting to them so investigated deeper into the bike finding basically 3 wires that had been FRIED. I almost went into a depression state.. but i have found an 1991 fzr 600 wiring harness only so my question is will the 600 wiring harness fit the bike... or should i keep trying to salvage what i have

better off stripping bak the original loom and replacing the knackered wires. The 600 loom wont be compatible as theres no exup servo facility
If its not broken it dont need fixing

Aren't the EXUP servo and the TCI close-coupled on all the 1ks? The 400 runs the connections through the harness, but I was under the impression the servo on the 1000 plugged right into the black box.

Fortunately we are all mind readers and have recently completed mind-melding 101 course so can see the problem. :yikes:
I failed the course so could you provide a description of exactly what is happening when you turn the key ?
