exup valve

hello all, im very new to the fzr's as in i just got one a couple of hours ago. The guy i got it from has removed the exup valve and everything that goes with it. the bike seems to run fine, but i dont know if this is going to damage it. any help would be great.

P.S. il get some photos of it up soon. its streetfighterd with a modded r1 tail on. WOOT

If you have the OEM exhaust, you'll definitely want to replace the EXUP system. I don't have one, but everyone I've seen post about it has asserted that you lose serious mid-range without the valve. Does your engine rev past 4k? There's a 'limp' mode that kicks in if the TCI / ignitor doesn't detect a working servo hooked up. banghead

See if the PO still has the pieces in his garage, or if he sold them for beer money on EvilBay. :deal:

It revs up past 4 easy in neutral I only had a quick shot but it seemed to be fine I nearly got it on its back wheel by mistake in First gear. I will need to get some insurance before I take her out on the open road. The collector box is still on but it has a stumpy viper can on it. This is my first fzr so everything is new to me. I swapped a triumph daytona t595 for it.

If it revs cleanly to red-line, the servo is still attached. See if Zippy still has the valve and cover on a shelf, or scour the classifieds for people parting out FZR1000s.

just had a closer look the guy has welded the holes where the bolts should go so i thin i will need to get new headers nd stuff. :swear
