Not a bad idea, just don't use the same attachment points (drill new?) cuz your sliders won't last a second if you have to use them. maybe use the holes in the frame that are already there to access the float drain screws (600 has them, i'm assuming the 1000 does too).

Hi,
The PO of my 600 fitted sliders but it did not help save his fairings which is why the bike is now mine :-}

That looks like a skateboard wheel, someone suggested bolting it to the frame, that sounds like the best route. The fairing mounts seem weak

S,
They look to be the same material as my rear jack stands wheels which I nicked of the eldests skate board.
They are as soft and dig in when sliding on the side perhaps if we used the wheel the way it was meant with bearings ......... where is Mod King when you need him :-}

its looks to be made of the same stuff they use to make the handles on snap-on screwdrivers...pretty much bowling ball material.....

Hi,
Yup but a better material is the modern white stuff they use on dirt bike chain guide/ swing arm protector which seems to be able to take serious abuse and may actually slide and not stick in and spin the bike
Some where I have the tech name for it
