1994 FZR1000 Engine.

Post by samsonitearcher »

Hi I recently bought a 94 FZR1000 as a project bike. The guy said the engine ran but had a bad knock so I took it all apart and found a snapped piston rod. The engine is pretty shot (crankshaft is scored pretty bad, oil pump is broken, clutch basket needs replaced, valves in one cylinder, etc.) So I'm needing to know which FZR1000 engines will fit into a 94 frame without modification. Or if any of the smaller FZR engines or different/newer/basically anything else will fit without too much trouble. Also if anyone has a running FZR1000 engine I could buy from them that would be awesome.

any of the EXUP1000RU models will fit (91-95) and even the earlier R models (89-90) but you'll need the seperate oil cooler and a few other bits
If its not broken it dont need fixing

sorry had no dealings directly with the 600. Sure it'd fit tho' but you'd also need the whole package...CDI ect. It would be easrier to buy a crash damaged machine and take wht you needd, then sell off the spare to recover some costs.

I'm sure theres an engine for the thou available somewhere. There always seems plenty on ebay

600 won't fit. 1000 frame is too wide and mounting points are different.
