FZRSupport: the FZROnline Archive

Will 89 and newer FZR1000 carbs fit up to an 88 FZR1000? Would like to be able to use the stock 88 airbox.

tried using an 89 box on my 88 carbs and it was a no go. the newer carbs are so much bigger. so your answer at least from my experience is NO you cant. at least no plug and play you will need to mess around to get the carbs to fit to the manifolds, if thats even possible cause im not sure if the carbs are bigger or smaller on the other end either.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that would be the case since the carbs on the next generation are bigger.

but dont give up, you never know what you can get away with. right now im installing exup parts on my 88 genesis and its going along very smoothly so far.
