Im reposting my build from the archives that I started last night finally.

Okay so I've finally got my shop set up some what and time to start my tear down. As you see in my Signature I have some planned mods that I've been talking about doing and parts that I've been gathering. So let me first and formost post a picture of what my baby looked like before. Its a 1992 FZR 1000. Bought it back in March of 2010 and have been in love since. My 2nd gear went a few months ago and she's been eating oil... While in there why not change some stuff up right??

A nice example of a fizzer in my book. I flipped here before those pictures back in july by not covering the rear brake acting a fool... Then Brought her back to standerd smile.gif

So now the time has come. Posted up in my shop:

I just got this in the Mail today from CAD600(Rob) THANKS AGAIN BRO

So far I need to source myself the following parts: Wiseco 1040 kit(sourced), Thunderace crank(Sourced), Gaskets, Yzf 750 rear wheel and assmb,a Billet clutch basket, Slotted Cam sprockets.... A lot of other things... the list is always growing

I have a YZF750 6 spd trans I'll post pictures tomorrow and my 750 cams( I got from Nate; ThatKid) Also have a 750 swinger that I shall be banging on for a bling effect.

I know its sacreligious but I'll be powdercoating the frame and swinger... I cant do with the constant polishing as I ride ALOT...I basically commute on my 1k.

So this is the start to my build on Reptar(My 1k dinosaur) I'll be going down tomorrow to pull the front end off as Im sending that and some various bits to Nate for powdercoating along with a rebuild of the forks. And thats where Im at. Not to shabby for a few hours of work but Im expecting to get her done by April ish with the tight income flow of a 22 yr old... tongue.gif

TA TA!

Looking good. Glad the PowerPak got there. Check your e-mail for a 600 PowerPak manual. It will explain how it is operated even though the RPM range will differ.

Oh, if you decide to redo the forks, get Yamaha factory fork seals. I redid my 750 with those "No Leak" or "Leak Proof" branded ones and of course they leaked. Swapped for factory, and not bit of a problem.

Thanks Rob just checked my PM's ad got it... Yeah I worked as a tech for my yamaha shop. I buy stuff like that oem for realibilty n I pay only 10% up from what the shop pays. I also bought factory dust boots and the upper and lower bushing in the forks. I'm going to run 15w with this set up. I have racetech internals but the bikes heavey, I don't think it'll make it worse

Sorry guyss but I've been thinking a metallic black and may even send it out to Nate because I'll insure it. I trust nate with my parts for powder and in general..

Okay so I went down this morning and got like 3 hours in of wrenching and prepping things. Cleaning bolts, nuts, picking out things to send to Nate, tried out my PowerPak which works great. So here are some pictures.

So thats it as it stands. I'll drop the oil and anti freeze sunday night and start tagging wires so All I have to do is pull the motor and upon install its as easy as 1-1 2-2 etc etc..

So thats what I have no guys.

Over and out!

UPDATE:

Spent like 9 hours in the shop yesterday.. Tagged all the wires on the harness. Had my friend over whos eager to learn about some things so I put him to work! dropped the oil. the coolant, pulled the rad off and gave him a job of straightening the fins out and what not. So without further to due I give you this!

I dropped the oil pan like I said as you dont want the pressure and weight of the motor on that fragile alluminum oil pan. SO while doing that of course you take off the pick up and this U oil return type pipe.. So I took apart the screen and some pieces of metal came out... AWESOME..... Im pretty sure its from the transmission...
Image

Sorry flash was on my phone but yeah... decent sized crap ughh... whatever glad im catching this stuff now... SO I wrote some notes based on finding that to my PO of the bike...

I had to cut some wood to fit the oil pan correctly... Sadly.. I couldn't find a circular saw in all the crap so I had to use my grinder which resulted in me using an axe...

I'll end on this picture:
