Genesis motors are 1: Older and smaller in displacement 2:Non Exup 3: mount different than. Best to stick with 91-93 EXUP motors as they would bolt in with no mods.

Sweeks, Isn't the 94-95 motors the same as the 91-93? and the 89-90 had an oil cooler still?

The short answer is yes. All years EXUP FZR1000 have oil coolers by the way. I could be wrong but I remember reading the wiring was slightly different for 94-95(for example: my bike has a 4 wire ignition). That's not to say a block, carbs, and exhaust from a 94 would not run on 93 wiring-probably would. I was suggesting to stay withing the same years as those were more in abundance than the fox eyes.

I would start by getting the numbers off the used engine.

yeah get the numbers from the head or on the crankcase and post them here...im sure someone can identify them. I think mine start as 3LG or 3GL something like that...

Sweeks.... Mine doesn't have an oil cooler lol It has what looks like the connectors would plug into down by the oil pan but all I have is me radiator in the front of mine...

EXUP 1000 Motors are "3GM" Genesis 1000 Motors should be "2GH". And Tony, your bike doesn't have an externally mounted oil cooler. The oil cooler is right under the oil filter (the filter screws into it actually). Same as mine. See below It's Number 27:

I think that you're certainly helping him find ways of identifying that motor. You continually prove your worth, Duane.

wow thanks duane.. That totally makes sense with the routing of the rubber hoses down there. I always looked at that trying to figure it out but since I didn't notice an external oil cooler I always shrugged it off. Cheers. and 3GM thereeee we go haha. I knew there was a 3 and a G woot woot lol

To my knowledge, the YZF600 adopted the same or very similar oil cooling system.
