Hello all,

1st apols for not introducing myself, but on site for one question only....
Been riding bikes for years, old git 46 now.

Just got 1989 fzr1000 exup "RR" love the bike to bits.
Long story but, It came from a bloke who said its a special machine of 1 of around 500
that were inported into the uk for racing? As said, I really love the bike and am not really that
bothered about the answer to this but would just like to know if the story is true or not?
Will be down to my local dealer with frame nums etc "when i get the time"
But the stickers on the side seem genuine, saying fzrRR?

I don't recall there being an 1000RR 89 although that was the first year if the EXUP motors. There is the FZR750 RR OW01 that was released in 89 and that was a limited edition and was pretty much a race bike with lights. The stickers could be from an aftermarket company that specializes in that sort of thing.

still a pup then got to be over sixty to qualify as old on this forum. do not ask how I know

As to the UK market I was abroad at the time so absolute truth Hmm.
However there were batches made for Homoglomation <SP> for racing in the fzr series , we had a couple in the windies for FZ750 as well.
They were basically in the FZ cases blueprinted engines or as the Japanese put it (reserved as best of the best produced in a run over a couple of months of production when checked on the in house test dyno.& tweeked slightly
I am not allowed to tell you what they did as I gave my word NOT to tell although I used the trick on the company bikes to sell more bikes after friday night " races "

my 1994 fzr 1000 ex up has fzrr on the side fairings as well. i would like to know as well....

you need to have a photobucket account. Upload them to that, then that line where it says "IMG" copy and paste that into your post. then WAL LAH. pictures

Hopefully the other guy with the RR issue maybe able to send a pic or two?

ill post mine since the other guy couldnt get it. mine is off a 1994 fzr 1000 ex up. the fairings are a little rough but do say fzrr. so here it is....
