Can the 88 Engine be put into the 97?? I have a chance to get these pretty cheap and not sure which way I want to go with them.

I' m not sure why you want to. Are you a good fabricator? The mounting locations are completely different.

I can get both bikes cheap and the 97 is in very good shape but no motor. The 88 is complete. Just hung up on what I should do. Dont know what it would cost me to get a motor for the 97 so figured maybe attempt a swap.

the 88 motor is way different and older

not worth it, better to just get both and look for a motor for the 97. I think you can toss any 89+ into the thunderace but I am not sure
