Easy 17" wheel swap?

Ive used the wiki and search with no luck. I know Ive seen posts around here detailing this, but alas, I must rely on your collective intelligences to help me out.

Im looking to get a 17" rear rim as my stock rim is dented and provides some nice bump action when riding. Its not bad on the street, but Im going to be hitting the track a few times this summer and would prefer not to die.

So what bike's rim will most easily swap onto the 87 FZR1000? What else will I need to get if I swap the rim? or is it just that simple?

I don't recall seeing this done BUT I would imagine it would involve an EXUP swingarm.

I have a complete 94 EXUP rear wheel, swingarm, shock and linkage for sale. I don't know if it will bolt on to your frame or not, but I have it for a reasonable offer.

The 94 models had a 17" wheel?

Hmm, interesting...

Anyone else know if it would be an easy swap onto my frame? I'd hate to waste any money. Though my rim is bent, and my swingarm is bent...

Well didn't all the 1K's utilize the aluminum deltabox frame? and all 1K's from 89? and up had 17" rear wheels. I'd jump on Ken's deal if I were you. It sounds like your whole rear end needs to be replaced anyway from the sounds of you saying its bent....

Interesting.

Ill have to do some measuring tomorrow on my swingarm (I'd rather not have to cut anything, Im OK with spacers, but not shaving anything off).

My biggest concern is the shock. I'd obviously like to upgrade my rear shock, but not at the cost of having to weld anything (I cant weld).

Ken, PM sent to see if we can work out some reasonable price.
