What is this switch

Sorry for the noob question but my 94 has a gray switch on the upper left fairing. What does it do i know it has something to do with fuel but what specifically?

Tough to answer without a pic or something. You're not asking about the petcock or the choke are you? Or the idle adjusment. I wouldn't really call any of these a "switch" though.

He's talking about a 1000. Different than a 600. Anyway...It's the fuel reserve switch. When your fuel level gets low it'll make the bike misfire. Flipping that switch makes it run smooth again but once that happens you're down to about a gallon of fuel-give or take.

Just make sure that you remember to refill when you switchs it to reserve. Don't ask me how I know.........

I'd guess they are heavy to push, too uncomfortable to sleep on, not soft enough to sleep with :-}
