Ok, as previously mentioned, Im new to all this. I just purchased an 88 FZR 1000 a few weeks ago so if Im dredging up a subject that has been milled to death, my apologies... but here goes...

The OE swing arm is kinda ugly on this thing and I wouldnt mind a wider rear tire....does any one know if a swing arm swap is possible ??

Hi,
I am not sure I ever read about any 1K owner swapping out a swing arm, I know as you say the subject has been beaten to death for 600 owners. I suggest you do a search on swing arm swaps & read up anything in tha WIKI about sizes etc.

I would think any of the R6 swaps could work for you it is certainly abig arm & quite robust looking., the thing to check most is the length of your original shock & the width of the swing arm where it pivots in the frame. Those two things will guide you more than anything else about the swap.

One of my race budies fitted 89-92 exup wheel onto his genesis 1000 by turning the hub in large lathe. He took 7mm of hub and cush washers.
Different bearings and genesis axel used to do so.
He has been racing on it for a year now with no issues.
