Try an R1 tail, either photoshop it or get a whiz kid pal to do it :-}

It just so happens the r6 tail is a common thing for the 600. The 750's and 1000 are actually easier for tail swaps since the subframe bolts on. The 600s don't. If you are a good fabricator just make a new subframe (or have one made) and then drop on the tail you like the best. I doubt you'll get any kind of a "straight" answer because that is a customization question and each person you ask will say something different.

The Lady spent an awful load of money but quite wisely it seems I wish she had put details of the FI system on the page tho.

George on the exup worldwide page theres a decent wright up of her when she was going through the FI system. Actually a decent amount of people have convert their Exup's to FI as well. Seems like a popular mod on that forum. Just have to have some change to drop(between 1-2 grand) but still for the price of Flatsides I'd go with FI. just my 2 Cents.

Jello is beautiful <3

Why would it cost between 1-2G to convert to FI?

$400 for microsquirt
$30-50 Throttle bodies
$50 to have throttle bodies spaced out differently if needed
$100 on different carb holders/adapter plates
$20 hi pressure fuel pump
$150 misc sensors

That's about it. I think I am going to fuel inject my bike this winter. I already got the throttle bodies for $1 off ebay and just paid shipping.

FS,
it depends on how your luck runs on Ebay. I have kept my mods so cheap because I have patients and I plan for the long term.

other want it done yesterday
:-}

I'm with Geo, took me 6 months to collect (off eBay) parts for my R6 tail conversion, YZF tank with fuel cap £48, 5EB tail £8, riders seat £13, pillion seat £18, seat catch with cable £9.99, Renntec grab rail £9.88, all included shipping. Just gota be patient, i could easily have paid more than double that.

and what about if you want some sort of data logger? or how about tuning? or time on the dyno to just get things peachy? Also you can't use megaquirt with the stock cdi/ignitor I believe. Thats why it helps having a V&H powerpack or an MSD MC-3 which will run you 500 new or if you're lucky enough to get a powerpack cheap.There was a guy on worldwide from germany selling a full turn key set up for 2 grand. Everything you needed to just plug in and go. down to the tuning software. I know you can piece things together cheaply. and Usually something like this is done over time but its not cheap is what im getting at...nothing is cheap with these things but its an addiction and i love it..

I seem to remember mentioning mega Jolt as the Computerisation of the ignition...............

But you are right testing without an osciloscope would be a bit expensive and yes Dyno runs could get quite pricy

If you are going 'fuel only', you most certainly can; just use the 'coil negative' arrangement off one coil or the other. If you are going 'fuel and spark' ... well, you're using the MegaSquirt as the ignitor anyway, aren't you?

The issue is not the TCI / Ignitor, but rather the timing pickup - the MS as currently configured doesn't know how to read a 'long-tooth' rotor. There is a project under way right now to develop a system to read the stock FZR wheel using the stock Variable Reluctor pickup; this would allow the MS to read and drive the spark on its own. This is garnering a bit of notice as the '3 short + 1 long tooth' wheel was used on many bikes over the years.

By adding a cam sensor (which I'll be doing for sequential injection anyway) and using a hall sensor as your crank pickup, the wheel becomes a 4-0/1 - quite readable by the MS system.

(caveat - for the fuel & spark system, I'm talking an MS2 running Extra code)
