You could try to tack weld a nut to the end and then wrench it off

use a dremel or other small grinding tool to make a slit in the bolt head so you can get a flathead screwdriver in it. make it bigger and deeper then you really need so you dont strip it out.

You can also use the grinding tool to reshape the rounded edges so they are flat and use a smaller socket that fits. i've done that before

Better still weld a cross bar as aT handle but cool it slowly not water quench just because you are impatient use a rag on the bar to help your grip & stop you burning them if you are hasty LoL
Just noticed no welder , you had better make like best friend to someone who has ......

Assume you have tried the vice grips when the motor is hot not a cold engine.

Mossey,
you forgot to tell him to buy anew bolt in the meantime as the vice grips will not leave him much of a bolt head to use when he comes to put a new filter on
On another thought with the welding trick it is mostly the heat that breaks the corrosion hold on the threads , try carefully heating the bolt

Not sure ive seen that done. The oil cooler is part of that whole set up so I'm not sure how all that would work.

I had to remove the header the 1st time on my OLD fzr and try the screw driver threw the center. It was seized pretty badly. Good luck.

Hi,
there was a thread I believe on the ARchives about using an adapter plate (seen 'em on ebay) for using spin ons with oil coolers as well.
