i have a ??? about the rear of bike

i have a 1990 fzr 1000 i tightened up the chain last week and now wheni come to a stop there is a grinding noise from the rear but not all the time brakes are all good pads a good..any ideas... also does anyone no about the 1990 fzr 600 i guy wants to trade me his 600 for the 1000 he also said top speed on the 600 was about 130mph is the true is the 600 a good bike..

Hmmm...is the 1000 too much for you? The 600 is 85hp..the 1000 is 145hp and much better to ride on windy days. The 600 does, however, weigh a lot less and it handles really well. I had a 92 600 for a couple years before getting my 1000. I've had that 600 up to 130 and that was with stock gearing. I'm still working on my 1000 so I can't verify the top speed but I read it was around 165 with the stock gearing. As as far the grinding you may want recheck your chain make sure it's not too tight and the rear wheel isn't crooked.

rear wheel is crooked most likely (been there done that) could be worn sprocket though. (new chain on worn sprocket = no good) if you can pull the chain away from the rear sprocket it may be worn
