NGK DP8EA-9 spark plugs
You should pull one to see what your running.
MAKE SURE TO BLOW OUT THE SPARK PLUG AREA WITH AIR COMPRESSOR BEFORE REMOVING PLUGS!

Yes, you will need to gap them.
Chances are, at the very least, the side fairings will have to be removed. Might as well change the oil and other items while the fairings are off.

Yea. You'll need to remove both sides and the front V shaped fairing too. The NGK's need a 17 or 18mm (can't exactly remember which of the two) socket cause they're bigger than a standard plug. I'm using the Champion equivalent of the NGK plugs gapped at .25 in my 1000 because I'm cheap and they work with a standard spark plug socket. Those plugs work just as well even with the extreme richness issue I currently have with my bike.
