So what are most of you runnin. What kind of mods do you have?
Carbs, jetted. What stage do you have?
Sprockets, What sizes did yall go with?
Do you have pods or are do you still have the air box on? Hows it run with the pods if ya got them?

Im just wondering because this winter I want to tear down my my bike and get it ready and dont wont to mess with it when it is completed due to I never have time for this kind of a tear down. I wana see what works and what doesnt.
I guess Im kind of skipping the trial and error process. But I guess that what this forum is all about, Helping others.

Thanks in advance everybody for your time and recommendations

Cool thanks.
I believe stock is like 135 -138 hp... :headscratch:
I just have a k&n air filter and had a few aftermarket stickers(took them off) minus the age of the bike w/ some wear so mine probably had 150 hp... :no Its bone stock
I was thinking about pods. The sprocket set up -1 +2 do you have that set up?
I have heard that is common, I want to do that but I dont want to wind up with a wheel machine
What about coils? Whats the deal?
Im going to ceramic coat the exhaust manifold and some of the rad lines too over the winter.

This is a place holder for when I do figure out what I have and what I need.
  • 88 Frame and chasis
  • Pods
  • 89 Engine
  • 88 Stock Headers
  • Mikuni Carbs (88 or 89 not sure yet)
  • Vance & Hinces Exhaust
  • Really big jets

honeslty I would keep it stock powerwise

the 87-88 carbs are a PITA to mess with due to the needles being wierd and having a plastic screw thats springloaded threading into a metal carb body.

I had the FP config 10 kit in it with a full supertrap exhaust and a K&N.

it had the DJ stg 1 but ran pig ass rich up to matter what.

I was running I beleive the stock jets(maybe up one jet size) and the 4th needle clip and stock pilots

My 92 600 is running the stock 15/45 530 gearing. Air box with a standard filter. I've never gone through the carbs but i think there's a stage 1 kit (not sure of the brand) in there. It's also a Cali model with an EXUP valve. Bike runs really strong.

I'm picking up a 94 1000 tomorrow (and yes i'll provide pics). From what i saw when i first went to look at it, it has Pods and a Full Yoshi system so I'm assuming there's at least a stage 3 kit in the carbs. The bike has been sitting a while so I plan on going through the carbs and rejetting down to a Factory Prostage1 kit with new emulsion tubes (if I don't decide to go with stock jets) and switching to an airbox and filter.

92 1000 EXUP. 78.000 km. New (breakers yard) engine, completly rebuild carps all to stock settings apart from the needles are one click higer. Pilot screw 3 turns out, thats 1/2 turn more than standart.( don´t speak to me about float-level adjustment banghead ) I plan to run a yosi slip on can, and then I´ll rewise the main jet´s. Theres one tooth less on the front sprocket, new hagon shock, new bushings and bearings in the link. New shorter dog-bones. New wheel bearings front and back. New steering head bearings. Pirelli diablos front and rear. Plus many hours of cleaning, polishing, painting and what not. In a week or so I´ll have it insured again, and I can´t wait to have it back on the road. Hopefully everything will be working out ok.

I have a 95 FZR
It's gone through a number of itterations.
Stock it dynoed 128rwhp.
Stage 1 dynojet, K&N, 1040 kit, +1mm Manley stainless valves, springs, Ti keepers and shim stacks, falicon clutch basket, and kevlar plates /heavy springs with about 40 hours into the head work Stock header with the EXUP and an SSR2 can netted 152rwhp onthe same dyno
Web cam long course cams, 41mm FCR's More port work, a 4/2/1 pipe Mike valasko made for me with no EXUP and a Graves can and big cois with some airbox work netted 189rwhp.
There is more in the motor. I'm working on another head that should gain another 3 or 4% in flow. We'll see how it goes this spring.
Before the cams and flatslides it ran a 9.84@144mph.

wooooo!!! 189 rwhp ? ! it's real ? my fzr 1000 eup 1994 have only k&n air filter in original air box , 130 main jets in all carbs and yoshimura carbon silencer ; I have yoshimura complete race pipe for my bikes , but it's without exup system and I'm not sure that I can like to ride my bikes without exup valve .....
I'm thinking for pods filters .....they are good for my bike ?
