Anybody else have a high bite point on their clutch ( clutch lever right out before clutch engages).. there is no adjustment on the 87 bike. Changed clutch plates but still high?

I fitted the adjustable lever off the 750 so the bite point felt more natural

So the clutch bite point is high on this bike by default? Master cylinder to slave cylinder ratios incorrect? Will look at FZ lever if all else fails.

Ok having thought about this problem more I will ask about it a different way..

What would need to change or fail in the clutch hydraulic system for the bite point to move to the lever almost fully out position. I don't believe the bike was designed this way or its by default.
I believe the clutch master cylinder I have is standard as it came with the bike although I will check the bore size (I believe 5/8 is the standard). And the slave cylinder is standard also

Like I say I will check M/C against factory manual as it may very well be the wrong one... maybe 5/8 bore is wrong and I should be looking for 14mm or even 1/2". But, if the M/C is correct and the S/C is correct, what else could possibly be wrong??
