Hey guys this is my first post on here. Im working on an 88 fzr1000 i bought a few months back. rode her home but she seemed to be bogging when you got on the throttle and the idle seemed a bit bumpy. Got her from a friend who i acutally found her for and helped him get home before i ended up with her..ran much better then. Then she sat for a few months before i got her..i just pulled the carbs off and cleaned them up real nice and everything appeared to be in good shape when inspecting them. now i put them back on and she doenst want to start at all...tries to when you put gas directly in the carb throat but wont fully start..just tries..but if off tank alone with no help she wont even try...just turns over. Anybosy here have any suggestions for me i can try? If anyone has questions for more detail please fell free to ask and ill do my verybest to answer them..just want to get the old girl up and running again..hate to see her sit.

well i got her going this morning. turned out there was a filter hidden under the fuel pump i hadnt seen and it was clogged..still took some effort and starting fluid to get her going. bit of a rough start but after a couple min running she smoothed out and seems to be pretty happy. let her run until the fan kicked on then rant the carbs out of gas so hopefully i wont have to deal with the cleaning again at least for a while. next on the list is a rear brake rotor and i need to get the headlights going also as they arent working. so thanks guys im sure ill have more questions another time hopefully someone will be able to answer them this time.
