I thought you might be interested in some pictures of a race engine we are building for our race bike.

We are in Australia - http://www.rpengines.com.au/racing

So far we bored and honed the barrel to 1040 and have the bigger valves done.

I will post pics as we go along. This is going to be a pretty wild 1040.

Thanks, hopefully this engine will be going by early June, racing on the 11th.

Here is the crank being lightened. After this is going on the mill, then knife edged and then balanced. We do all this in house.

Thanks guys! You will like this for sure...

Anyway woke up exhausted... and laser cut some adapters and some lathe work for a nice big exhaust system we are doing (1 3/4") - she will breathe!

Exhaust primary also in the picture. We are going 4-2-1, finishing with 2,5" pipe and muffler.

Thank you.

Here is a video of our FZR against all kinds of liter bikes (all dedicated track bikes). I reckon it was a great result. Lots to improve still, including a new engine so lots to come!

Thanks and let me know what you think.

Cannot make the video play here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :tks:

Hi everyone,

Race crank finished. 2kg lighter than stock. We could have taken the polishing a bit further but time is short till the next race.

Did you keep the 5spd or go to the 6?
Crank looks awesome
Also what bore is that RPE kit? I have the Wiesco 1029 right now but as always it could use more and i am rebuilding the engine right now anyway.

Hi,

The kit is a 77mm 1040. Its got perfect valve reliefs if running a big cam...Lighter pistons, available in 3 or 2 ring design (for racing) and are forged Wossner.

This is our first video of last weekends race at Phillip Island GP Circuit... This is our new race engine against the likes of S1000RR GSXR1000, CBR1000, RSV4, R1s,.... all liter superbikes

Enjoy, we surely did.
