Obviously you have a lot of work ahead of you.
But looks like your plastics are pretty good.
You already have the newer suspension all the way around.
I bought a complete bolt kit for the engine from ebay i believe and the one i got is good quality and would fix all your rusted bolts.
Your side cover is also off a newer bike on the engine but thats no big deal.
Also you already have different brakes on the front. I am not sure what they are off of exactly.
I would just clean the frame up and then clean the engine probably vapor or soda blast then repaint it and it could be a really nice bike.
If you decide not to re build it with the stock fairing let me know i would be happy to buy some of that stuff off you.
Also if you need any parts for 87-88 i have most of them in duplicate.
Good luck!

Well lets see.
This is the only upper fairing set i can find new. They do require some work to finish them but better than nothing.

Here is the bolt kit i bought. i know its not for a genesis but i did not have have any real problems. They were even labled for the areas they go in. They are not the best quality i have ever seen but far from the worst also.

Last feel free to ask any question i have been building these for a while now, Also if you are interested in any improvements like yzf750 cams or yzf750 carbs i have some of those i would sell.

Well I was out in the garage today , started the bike up dosent sound to bad it has a rattle sounds like it's behind the autonator so will have to look at that, one of the carbs
Needs sorting ,when it's running it's like running on 3 but if I but my finger over the carb at the top it runs good,
So this is what I did today
On the ramp
Now the fun begins

You may find that the noise goes away completely if and when you get it running again and balance the carbs.
Rough running engines develop all sorts of rattles, knocks and bangs.
