Hello all,
Just picked up this nice roller to begin a rebuild, looking for an engine donor for starters. Everything else appears to be there but have not sorted things just yet.

Where are you? There's a fellow over on the Archives who has an engine that's about to go to the crushers!

San Francisco. I've made a post asking if he still has it.

Edit - never mind, I just noticed this thread is in the 1000 section, the engine is a 600.

Hey! I am in tyler actually.

I have a spare yzf-750 radiator. I do not know how different it is then the 95 fzr1000.
Also if you want to get a little more out of the motor i have a spare set of YZF750 cams. They are hotter than the fzr1000 cams.
I probably have a bunch of other stuff laying around also. Don't worry about an airbox. Just get pods.
They run very well with exhaust, cams, pods, and correct jetting. You may be interested in this exhaust also.

I would have already bought it if i was not spending on the other bike right now.

Very nice. Glad I could help. That's a rare lm exhaust these days.

With the engine out I am considering some performance mods. I see a lot of chat regarding the 70 cams, is this a viable option for the later year 1000's?

I don't know about the cams but Wiseco has pistons kits that increase the displacement to 1040cc or 1070cc ... depending on which kit you purchase. You have to bore the cylinders accordingly: 150mm oversize for 1040cc and 2.50mm oversize for 1070cc.

1040cc info:

1070cc info:
