Quickshifter on a 1k

Anyone here tried installing a quickshifter on one?
Just that I tried and could not get it to work very well. Worked great at medium revs but WOT @ 10,000rpm was not good. Spent whole day at the track trying to tune it in adjusting gear link sensor and kill time but didn't have any joy. Ended up just turning it off and will sell it. Another bloody waist of money.
Only thing I can think (reason for not working) is I have had all the gear dogs back ground slightly which means it wont slip out of gear easily. Its even difficult finding neutral since I background dogs.
