value of a 92 FZR1000

I hope this is a "legal" question on this forum. I just figured I'd start here.

I have a 92 FZR1000 with about 3,500 original miles on it. Yes, 3,500. The bike is mostly stock except for a speedscreen, $1500 Penske rear shock, stage 1 jet kit and a slip on Jardine carbon can. I bought if about 6 years ago from the original owner who just let it sit for decades. I bought it, went thru the entire bike and made the above mods, and now it just sits in my garage. My old bones can't handle the riding position so much as my young mind thought it could.

Its a great bike but now it just gets scuffed and banged moving around the garage. Its going to waste.

I'm going to sell it locally (northern cal). what's a good selling price? my opinion on price is probably not realistic so some honest input would be appreciated.

this is just a request for help, not an attempt to sell on the forum so left all specifics/personal info out.

thanks in advance, Rick

Any pictures of the bike? And i would recomentadion putting all the stock parts you still have back on. The shock alone you could sell fast for 500, and it being in the bike is not going to add 500 to the bike's price. I live in the Midwest so asking prices are different but I've seen guys try and sell well used non stock(paint) examples from $1800 to $2200, with anywere between 24,000 to 40,000 miles. 5 years ago I payed $1,895 at a dealership for a decently clean 94 with 24,000 miles, with a tinted screen and a v&h SS2R slip-on.

thanks for the reply. I was thinking about removing the shock since Penske will re-work it to fit my other bike for a few hundred bucks.

I don't know if I could part with the bike for less than $3500, like I said, my expectations are probably not realistic. I'll have to mull it over some more.

I don't think 3500 is a bad ASKING price. If it's clean, which it should be for such low miles. It may take a little bit to sell. Probably an older person who use to have one or wanted one bad back in the day. Good luck & Sorry to hear your selling your bike.
