The 2 owners before me really mess the bike up.Bike has been lowered to where the back inner plastic fender is gone and all rear tail wires grinded in half. what is stock dog bone length?so i can find some used ones on line. Let me say the clamp on is fine will the 91 handlebar fit in the 1990 clamp on petcock wont shut of sending unit wires broke off carb flooding gas all over the ground ignition will not shut off bike somebody hotwired the radiator fan speedo needle broke headlight cowl is broke at the mirror im sure i will need more info later any advise is greatly welcomed thanks sorry about the grammer

89 & 90 bars are the same. The clip on brackets for the later models wont fit as they're made to fit the upper sections of the upside down forks but the actual bars should fit the 90 clamps as they both use the same bar ends and throttle toobs (master cylinders are different however)

Stock bone length is 165 centres. i do stainless ones if you need some

Fuel tap not closing off is likely to be the 2 small plastic lugs snapped from the inner side of the turn button....so it doesnt rotate the valve to its closed position. Carbs flooding may be the float heights need setting or more likely to be dirt preventing the needle from closing off in its seat

Ignition not shutting off might be a broken wire around the headstock area if nothing else shouts alarms...also check the terminals in the main block connector behind the headstock havent melted together (happened to mine last year)

headlight cowl is best repaired as good second hand are like rockin horse sh1t

Theres a yam workshop manual free to D/L at my place

thank you MR stig for the info. I have a weakness for rescuing old bikes all my bikes are air or oil cooled. spent last 2 years restoring a1986 gsxr 750 back to original red and black.I spent the year before restoring a75 rd 350 mild stretch kh 500 tail and agunfighter seat.Ive never owned a fuel pump water cooled bike. I bought a 86 gsxr in 86 my buddy on his rz 350 was in shock at the performance of the gsxr. The next year 87 he showed up on a red and white new fzr 1000.My leading the pack days were over at 125 he would leave me almost standin still. I never forgot that bike! This bike has looks to be gray factory rims but p. o. painted it black hell he even painted the frame black from the swingarm bolt to the air intake tubes, hell that cant stay that way !Hoping tomorrow this aircraft paint stripper does not etch the aluminum.I wanted a used red and white i think this a black and gray with blue stripe model.carbs are on work bench tore down new kits on the way new petcock is here used sending unit on the way new iggy on the way entire fuel system on work bench fuel lines snap when you touch them.reserve switch wires snapped off found a used one on ebay on the way.alot of projects when its time for bones how do i pay you? man on my gixxer site if you even talk about sellin something and your not in 4 sale forum they want to bannish you for insuboardanation thanks for the info mr stig

Aircraft paint stripper will etch aluminum, try straight up Laquer thinner. soak a cloth in it and leave the wettest side down on the paint and it should start loosening the paint off. Don't smoke and keep the doors open, laquer thinner is also known as gun wash in body shops and that is what is used to clean up paint guns, and strip parts that cant be sanded or are aluminum as acid will etch aluminum.
