Does the clutch basket have to be removed?

Il answer that myself.......... Yes it does. The bearing retainer behind the clutch has to be removed before splitting cases.

Agreed. Needs to come off. Be wary of the little T30 screws holding in the bearing retainer. Nearly every time I've split the cases I've had one stick, and torx head screws strip out easy.....

Thanks. Seems I was lucky. But they were very tight.
