it may be a head gasket issue pressurizing the water jacket. Have you checked cylinder compression?

Is it overheating? That would be the first order of business...get a grip on what the coolant temp is. Boiling is boiling. No cap, or coolant system will hold that in.
I hear they used to drive ships and locomotives with boiled water

Given your user name, I assume your bike is an '87-88; according to the manual, the opening pressure for the rad cap should be 74-103 kPa / 0.75-1.05 kg/cm2 / 10.7-14.9 psi. I would assume your cap is rated for 0.9 kg/cm2, and is thus correct - but that doesn't mean it's working properly ...

It could be a faulty cap like the one I bought for my bike. Non original cap, wouldn't hold any pressure on the bench tester radiator out. So I just re-used the old cap. And looking at the two caps I couldn't see any difference. Mystery. Why not put your old cap on and try?
If you have leaky head gasket you would probably see bubbles in the rad, cap off.
