Hello!
Motorcycle FZR 1000. The question of the drive chain of the generator. Mileage 58000 km chain noise (thunder) at low engine speeds. Minimum speed (without screening) 1600-1700 r / min.
It is dangerous to ride with a long chain?
When it has to be replaced? (km) (information from the manual)

Lokking at the manual it doesn't give a recommended milage to change the timing chain if thats what you mean. The HIVo has an automatic tensioner so thats taken care of. When the chain wears you can hear it rattling and when you check the chain you should not be able to pull the individual links away from the cogs. If you download the Yamaha Workshop manual, there isn't any further info....it just states to change the chain when worn

Thanks for stepping up STIG, ok so if the original poster can lift the chain significantly off the cogs time to change.
Can you confirm this an endless chain ie riveted or does it have a split link Yam Pt number ? are there commercial non oem CHAINS THAT CAN BE BOUGHT FOR THIS ?
sORRY FOR THE QUESTIONS BUT i WOULD LIKE THE ANSWER TO BE FAIRLY DEFINATIVE TO SAVE THE SAME SORT OF THING BOUNCING UP IN THE FUTURE
This is late and the keyboard is glitching on me and I am "asleep" as far as the staff are concerned
