The issues with the blue and red are that they were printed graphics and not actual paint colours. Its only the pearl white thats a paint...and thats a base coat, pearl and then clear laquer. Have never seen the actual colour codes for the white on the wheels tho'. The EXUPs were never painted in the 3 colours as standard...just the initial colour and then the relevant graphics applied. I actually have a spare set of main panel decals that I bought for a panel respo job. A single side was £125 and that was 8 years back.

Hope this helps

Stig,
spot on But the stuff I quoted was from a paint specialty company who matched stuff for our Yamaha Dealership since A} replacement plastics were 4 months min delivery time & B} ran to thousands of local bucks to buy.

We as their service center did a deal with new bike model owners to make F'glass dupes of all the plastics and which that owner got a single complete set FREE for allowing us to copy their bike's plastics BUT they had to pay for the paint replica work on the F'Glass.
Anyone else faced full charges for the F'glass copy & paint job.

Draggin this one up again.

I've been in email contact with Sikkens (Azko Nobel) about these paint codes and here is their reply.

Hi Dan

I have spoken to our colour lab ref the below; they do not recognise the ref YAM00GE but do have a colour reference of YAM9085 for the Yamaha Silky White.
Yamaha Apple Red is not recognised on the system either. I have been advised that we have lots of reds but with the Silky White you may want YAM9123 Candy Red.
JCA Coatings Ltd are one of our approved distributors; they have a depot on Bristol. They can be contacted on 01179 821234.
Hope this helps

Kind regards

I am now looking to get swatches for these codes to see if they match up.

Hi,
That is very interseting for ALL concerned at "faking" original schemes, Once you get the colour patches PLEASE let us know how they look (pictures?) I know Y-Geo is still quite ill with complications to his blood work up.but he would be Very happy to hear the work is on going in the WIKI.

I actually bought a touch up set in the silky white from RS paints (base, pearl and clear coat). FWIW I wouldnt recommend the touch up stick as the paint seems too thick and is difficult to apply...the consistancy means it dont match in too well. Aerosol option or gun mix may be better but not tried them
